October 2005

October was a sad month. We worried something was wrong with Grace and took her to the hospital for tests. While we waited for the results, we were quiet at home, with each of us praying Grace was okay. On October 12, Grace was diagnosed with Krabbe disease. We were told there was no cure and to try to keep Grace comfortable. An NG feeding tube was placed. On the way home and for days after the diagnosis, it rained and rained. Perhaps tears from above…?

At home, we struggled with the fact that Grace was going to die and worried it would happen right away. Alysia continued to take pictures of Grace.
